Sanctuary Ascent
A downloadable game for Windows
A top-down roguelike dungeon crawler. Pick a class, fight your way up, don't die.
Climb, don't descend
Sanctuary Ascent takes the run-based dungeon-crawler formula — random rooms, item pickups, a boss at the end of each floor — and flips the direction. Instead of working your way down into a basement, you're climbing a tower, one level and one boss at a time, ending with whatever the Knekromancer turns out to be.

Three characters, two ways to attack
Every character has a main attack you aim yourself, and a passive attack that fires on its own — so you're always managing two things happening at once instead of just pointing and clicking.

Mage — ranged fireballs, plays at a distance.
Rogue — dagger in close, fast and aggressive.
Sorcerer — flamethrower, area denial over raw range.
Three floors, three fights
Each of the three levels ends in a different boss. Between fights you'll run into shops, item altars where you spend the blue currency you pick up along the way, and the occasional room that isn't a fight at all.
What this actually is
This is a demo, and I'm not planning to keep building it out. It exists because I wanted hands-on practice with the systems that make a game like this work — procedural dungeon layout, enemy variety, a spell/attack system, an item economy — and building something playable end to end was the fastest way to actually learn them. If you play it and it's fun, that's a bonus on top of what it already did for me.
Free demo. Windows.
